ERIN STARK-MEDINA
Erin Stark-Medina is the Founder and Managing Partner of Sangiorgi, a national business and transactional law firm advising venture capital funds, family offices, emerging and venture-backed companies, private credit and private equity sponsors, financial institutions, lenders, and investors. With more than 25 years of experience, Erin serves as trusted counsel on sophisticated transactions and strategic legal matters across the United States.

Erin’s practice is centered on venture and growth-stage financings and private credit transactions, including seed and Series A financings, SAFEs and convertible notes, asset-based lending, structured credit, syndicated and bilateral facilities, and real estate finance. She regularly represents venture funds, sponsors, lenders, borrowers, and emerging companies in the origination, structuring, negotiation, documentation, and closing of complex financing transactions, and continues to support clients throughout the life of the investment.

In addition, Erin has extensive experience advising emerging companies, family offices, multi-generational investment platforms and investors on mergers and acquisitions, private equity transactions, and corporate finance matters. She counsels buyers and sellers on acquisitions, divestitures, joint ventures, restructurings, and strategic investments across a wide range of industries. Her practice also includes special situations and creditors’ rights matters, including workouts, enforcement actions, distressed asset strategies, and receiverships—experience that is particularly valuable to venture and private equity sponsors navigating portfolio challenges.

Erin handles commercial and real estate transactions nationwide and serves as a title agent for American Eagle Title, supporting both commercial and residential real estate closings. Her real estate practice includes acquisition, disposition, and financing matters, with a strong focus on real estate-backed credit facilities and investment transactions involving sponsors and operating companies.

Beyond individual transactions, Erin serves as outside and fractional corporate counsel to emerging companies, operating businesses, and investment platforms. She provides practical, business-oriented legal advice on governance, fundraising strategy, day-to-day operations, risk management, and strategic growth initiatives. This flexible model allows founders and investors to access senior-level legal guidance efficiently as companies scale.

Erin is actively engaged in the legal and business communities. She serves on the Southern Methodist University Dedman College Executive Board, the Southern Methodist University Parent Leadership Council, the Southern Methodist University Alumni Board, Southern Methodist University Innovation and Entrepreneurship Task Force Committee, Southern Methodist University Career Success Work Team Committee and the Southern Methodist University AI & Curriculum Task Force Committee.
